Wenn auch aus Platzgriinden hier auf eine ausfiihrliche Diskussion der wis senschaftlichen Literatur zur CSU bzw. zu Gegenstandsbereichen, die auch die CSU betreffen, verzichtet und der Anmerkungsapparat auf das Allerwichtigste beschrankt werden mugte, so handelt es sich hier doch urn den ersten Versuch einer fachwissenschaftlichen Ge samtdarstellung. In dieser "Geschichte der CSU" werden iiber kurzgefagte Teile meines ersten Buches hinaus ideologische Grundziige und Hauptent wicklungslinien der Politik der CSU dargestellt und an Beispielen landes- und bundespolitischer Situationen verdeutlicht. Hierbei wird auch ins aspect gegangen und ofters ausfiihrlich zitiert, vor allem aus dokumentarischen Grunden. Denn meine Argumentation und meine Interpretation stiitzen sich auf "Hintergrundwissen" und auf viele, dem Leser unzugangliche Quellen.
